Overview & Highlights
Delhi → Devprayag → Chopta → Tungnath → Chandrashila → Rishikesh → Delhi
Itinerary
- The adventure begins as you meet our spirited trip captain and fellow explorers in Delhi. Our common meeting points are conveniently located to ensure a smooth and hassle-free onboarding. With excitement in the air, we'll hit the road by 8 PM.
- Settle into the cosy Tempo Traveller, and let the rhythmic hum of the road lull you into a dreamy state as we drive away from the bustling city toward the serenity of the mountains. Sleep, dream, play games or chat with new friends—the journey is as much a part of the adventure as the destination.
- Wake up to the fresh mountain air as we continue towards Chopta. We’ll stop at a nice restaurant for breakfast where you can freshen up and get ready for the scenic drive ahead.
- As the journey continues deeper into the mountains, we’ll make a stop at Devprayag, where the Bhagirathi River and Alaknanda River meet to form the sacred Ganges River (Sangam). The stunning turquoise and emerald confluence here is a sight you won’t forget.
- Later, we’ll halt at Rudraprayag for lunch before continuing the drive through winding mountain roads and dense forests.
- By late afternoon, we arrive in the peaceful meadows of Chopta, surrounded by towering Himalayan peaks — the perfect place to unwind and soak in the mountain vibes. Check-in to the camps and freshen up. As night falls, gather around a warm bonfire, share stories with fellow travellers, and enjoy stargazing under the clear Himalayan sky before calling it a day. Overnight stay in Chopta.
- Wake up early in the crisp mountain air and get ready for the most exciting day of the trip. After breakfast, we drive to Baniya Kund, the starting point of the trek. Carry only the essentials as we begin the scenic trail toward the majestic Himalayas.
- The trek gradually ascends through beautiful alpine meadows and forest trails leading to Tungnath Temple, the highest Shiva temple in the world. After spending some peaceful moments at the temple, we continue the trek further up to Chandrashila (12,083 ft).
- At the summit, witness breathtaking 360° panoramic views of the Himalayas. Spend some time soaking in the views, clicking photos.
- After the summit experience, trek back down to Baniya Kund where the vehicle will be waiting. Later, we begin our drive down from the mountains toward Rishikesh, the adventure capital of India.
- By late evening, reach Rishikesh and check in to your Camps in shivpuri. Relax after the adventurous day, enjoy bonfire or simply unwind by the riverside.
- Dinner and overnight stay in camps in Shivpuri.
- Wake up in Rishikesh and get ready for an exciting river rafting adventure on the Ganges River. Ride through thrilling rapids surrounded by the beautiful Himalayan foothills — the perfect adrenaline rush to wrap up the trip.
- After the rafting experience, freshen up and spend some free time exploring the vibrant cafés and local markets of Rishikesh and picking up souvenirs.
- Later in the afternoon, begin the journey back to Delhi with unforgettable memories, new friendships, and stories from the mountains.
- We expect to reach Delhi by around 11 PM, marking the end of an incredible Himalayan adventure. ✨
