Trip Highlights
Itinerary
- Touch down in Guwahati, the gateway to the Northeast.
- Our adventure kicks off as the group comes together in Guwahati. Excited faces, cheerful introductions, and road trip vibes set the mood.
- First stop: Umiam Lake Viewpoint – a giant, sparkling reservoir surrounded by hills. Perfect for our first group photo! 📸
- On reaching Shillong, we’ll check into our stay, freshen up, and step out to explore the bustling Police Bazaar, which features street food, quirky shops, and cafes.
- Later at night, let’s play some games and chit-chat to get to know each other.
- Overnight in Shillong.
- Wake up, and after a hearty breakfast, we will visit the dramatic Laitlum Grand Canyon, offering panoramic views of rolling hills and deep gorges.
- Next gear up for an exhilarating Bamboo Trek! Famously known as the “King of Stones” trek.
- It is OWF’s unique adventure spot. The trek takes us through bamboo bridges that precariously cling to cliffs and sway above roaring rivers. We’ll traverse narrow ridges and sheer drops, offering heart-pounding excitement for thrill-seekers.
- An evening drive takes us to the mystical land of Cherrapunji, known as the rainiest place on Earth, where waterfalls and mist create a dreamlike atmosphere.
- Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
- After breakfast, we will witness the mighty Nohkalikai Falls, one of the highest plunge waterfalls in India. The view is breathtaking, and the local legend makes it even more fascinating.
- Next, we’ll visit the enchanting Wei Sawdong Falls, a three-tiered beauty hidden amidst lush forests — often called Meghalaya’s most photogenic waterfall. Its emerald pools and cascading steps look straight out of a dream.
- To wrap up, cool off at the serene Lyngshiar Waterfall — dip into its crystal-clear pool, relax on sun-warmed rocks, and soak in nature’s calm before heading back to the resort.
- Overnight stay in Cherrapunji.
- Wake up early, as today is going to be a big adventure day! After breakfast, we drive 30 minutes to Tyrna village, the starting point of the iconic trek.
- Trek down to Double Decker Root Bridge (1.5–2 hrs). The trail winds through pretty villages, lush jungles, and rope bridges hanging over sparkling streams. Expect butterflies, chirping birds, and countless picture-worthy spots on the way.
- Next Trek to Blue Lagoon & Rainbow Falls (1.5 hrs). Continue deeper into the forest to find the enchanting Blue Lagoon, a surreal turquoise pool, and then the mighty Rainbow Falls, where sunlight paints arcs across the mist.
- Trek back (3–3.5 hrs) the same way, climbing steps and bridges with tired legs but hearts full of joy.
- Return to Cherrapunji to relax after the adventurous trek, soaking in the peaceful atmosphere and enjoying the night away.
- Overnight in Cherrapunji.
- Ever tried caving? Today, we’ll step into the mystical Arwah Cave, filled with fossils, stalactites, and formations that whisper stories millions of years old.
- If time permits, we can also go bungee jumping.
- Next, we’ll visit Mawlynnong, known as the Cleanest Village in Asia. Every lane and corner here feels like walking through a fairytale.
- After that, we’ll head towards Dawki, home to the iconic crystal-clear river. But here’s where our journey gets special – to reach our private campsite, we’ll cross the river by boat, an experience in itself!
- Unlike the usual crowded campsites, OWF has its own private camping ground – meaning peace, exclusivity, and vibes just for our group.
- As the sun sets, the magic begins – riverside camping with a bonfire, music, and stargazing, right by the water’s edge. Nothing but our group, the river, and the stars.
- Night: Bonfire warmth + group music jam + riverside memories = one of the most unforgettable nights of the trip. Overnight camping in Shnongpdeng.
- Morning fun with boating, kayaking, or cliff-jumping at Dawki – adrenaline rush at its best!
- Next, we start with a trek through lush green trails to reach the spectacular Phe Phe Waterfall, one of Meghalaya’s most stunning hidden gems. Its powerful plunge and turquoise pool make it the perfect spot for a refreshing dip.
- The evening drive takes us to Shillong. Let’s head out and explore cafes, enjoying local music, delicious food, and vibrant culture.
- Overnight in Shillong.
- Have your breakfast at the hotel and pack your bags.

Stories from Our Travellers
“I had an incredible trip to Meghalaya with OWF Trips! Everything was perfectly organized by the Captains Kush & Shivam, from the itinerary to the logistics, making it an stress-free and fun experience. I made great friends, had amazing adventures, and loved the group vibe. They're one of the best companies for solo trips, and I can’t wait to travel with them again!”
“My Meghalaya trip with OWF was my first solo trip, and honestly, it turned out to be one of the most peaceful and memorable experiences I’ve ever had. From the misty mountains and waterfalls to the calm villages and endless greenery, everything about Meghalaya felt healing. I found a kind of quiet and peace on this trip that I didn’t even know I was looking for. It was refreshing, grounding, and deeply fulfilling. A big thank you to Shivam, our captain, who handled everything so smoothly and made sure everyone felt comfortable, safe, and included throughout the journey. His energy, responsibility, and calm approach really set the tone for the group. Also, a special thanks to Kush, who was equally supportive and warm — both of them made this trip not just well-managed but genuinely enjoyable. Travelling solo with a group of strangers can be intimidating, but OWF made it feel effortless and safe. I came back with beautiful memories, lovely people, and a heart full of gratitude. Thank you OWF, Shivam, and Kush for making my first solo trip so meaningful. Truly a trip I will always cherish 🌿✨”
“This was my first solo trip and also my first time traveling with complete strangers. I’m truly happy that I chose OWF. The founders are super cool, supportive, and motivating, and as a female traveler, they made me feel completely safe throughout the journey. I’m not very into fitness but I do enjoy trekking, so covering a 16 km trek was really challenging for me. The captains continuously encouraged us, made sure no one was left behind, and ensured we stayed hydrated and energetic at all times. Only because of their constant support was I able to reach Rainbow Falls. Overall, it was a memorable, well-managed, and confidence-boosting experience. Highly recommended! 🌿✨”
“This was honestly one of the best experiences of my life. It was my first-ever trip, and everything about it felt just perfect. The place wasn’t too crowded, which made it feel safe, peaceful, and enjoyable. The travel plan was extremely well-organised, and we stayed in amazing hotels with great cleanliness and comfort. What made the trip even more special was the itinerary…we did trekking and water activities at some of the best spots that weren’t overcrowded, so we could truly enjoy every moment to the fullest. The best part for me was the bonding with the team. Traveling and doing activities together naturally motivates you to support, encourage, and push each other. We helped one another through every activity, and that created such a strong connection. The captains were incredible throughout the trip. They made sure everyone was comfortable, safe, and doing only as much trekking as they could manage. Every step of the trek, they were right there with us. They also ensured fair room arrangements and shuffled stays properly so everyone felt included and comfortable. Overall, this trip gave me unforgettable memories, confidence, and beautiful connections. I couldn’t have asked for a better first travel experience. ❤️”
